Cost: Free! (24-hour layover when returning from Rome, Italy)

Dates Travel: Nov. 28-29 / Fun Fact: Thanksgiving week is one of the least expensive times to travel

When I purchased our trip to Rome, Italy I picked a flight with a 24-hour layover in Paris. This layover allowed us to experience a brief moment in Paris.

When you exit the subway station for the Louvre

During our short visit, we learned it’s much more cost-effective to use their highly adequate public subway transportation system to get around within the city. The cost is about $2 each way to use the subway. Now, if you are wanting to explore the suburbs a rental car may be a much cheaper route to take, especially if the there are several people in your group.

the Effiel Tower

On this visit I didn’t get a chance to really indulge in the cuisine or the rich history of Paris. All we had time to do was briefly visit the Louvre museum and the Effiel Tower.

Make sure you check out my February 2020 visit where I plan to explore a lot more and be able to pass on many worthwhile deals and experiences.
